TranslucentTB tools
Three small tools for the three things people get stuck on: making the taskbar look right, fixing a settings file TranslucentTB rejects, and working out why it stopped working. All run in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Why these tools exist
TranslucentTB keeps most of its power in a hand-edited JSON file, and the questions people ask most are about that file and about errors after Windows updates. We built tools around those questions instead of generic ones.
One typo resets everything
TranslucentTB checks the whole settings file at once. A single invalid value, such as "Acrylic" with a capital A, makes it show an error and load defaults for every setting. The validator uses a port of the app's own parser, so it finds the same error the app does.
Colors are hard to picture
Colors are written as #RRGGBBAA, with alpha last, and the result depends on the accent and your wallpaper. The builder shows the taskbar over your own wallpaper before you save anything.
How we keep them accurate
The tools share one script, ttb-core.js, that follows TranslucentTB 2026.2's source: the same defaults (Config.hpp), key names, allowed values, color parser (Util::Color::FromString), error messages and the order in which states win (TaskbarAttributeWorker::GetConfig). We test it against TranslucentTB's own unit tests for the color parser and against the behavior described in the source. When a new TranslucentTB release changes the settings format, the tools are updated with it.
